This week Newmarket Academy students took part in ‘Sky Sports – ‘Living for Sport’ Athlete mentors scheme. The project that we are running aims to raise boy’s aspirations and achievement through sporting projects. The project promotes six keys to success: Mental toughness, hunger to achieve, people skills, Sports and life knowledge, breaking barriers & planning for success.

Students from Newmarket Academy got the chance to see the town’s Rowley Mile racecourse through the camera lens as part of the school’s Godolphin Beacon project . Newmarket Journal photographer Mark Westley gave the youngsters the benefit of his expertise on the second day of the Craven meeting at the course on Wednesday. “The day was excellent,” said the academy’s head of art and design, Tiffany East.

A slightly late congratulations to the brilliant cast of Honk! at the Academy this week - the future of productions at the academy is certainly bright with so many talented younger performers involved with the show who I know will be brilliant! Well done to everyone involved and proud to be part of another production at the Academy (however many I've worked on now!!) & love all of the photos from the show below!
