Are you able to make a difference with young people and support growth of the Sea Cadets?
The Sea Cadets (part of the Marine Society & Sea Cadets) is a national charity committed to giving young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.
Newmarket Academy and Whittlesey’s Sir Harry Smith Community College are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Dedicated Person to work with the Marine Society & Sea Cadets to drive the establishment, development and growth, of Sea Cadet units operating within both schools.
This is an exciting and varied role working closely with children and volunteers at two different schools as part of a national programme funded by the Department of Education and the Ministry of Defence.
You will have experience of working with children, preferably at a secondary school, and will have awareness of relevant child protection and health and safety legislation relating to children. You will also ideally have some experience of administration and delivering training to children. Some knowledge of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and Sea Cadets would be beneficial, though not essential.
