Pupil Premium & Free School Meals
Newmarket Academy believes every learner deserves the opportunity to thrive socially, emotionally and academically. We create a consistent, ambitious and supportive environment where routines reinforce high expectations in teaching, learning, behaviour and personal development.
Our mission is anchored in five core priorities—Reading, Attendance, Attainment, Confidence and Oracy—which shape every aspect of our provision. Through a broad, balanced and knowledge‑rich curriculum, we ensure students master core concepts, develop essential literacy and communication skills, and build the foundations needed to access the full curriculum and shape their futures.
Our intent is for all students, particularly those who are disadvantaged or face barriers to learning, to become fluent readers, confident communicators and successful learners. High‑quality teaching, evidence‑based literacy practice and targeted support ensure that learning builds securely from prior knowledge, misconceptions are addressed, and every student is challenged and supported to achieve.
Alongside academic excellence, we nurture the whole child. We cultivate confidence, resilience and responsibility through enrichment, inclusive relationships and opportunities beyond the classroom. Students learn to communicate with clarity, take pride in their achievements and contribute positively to our community.
By embedding high expectations, strong relationships and a culture of aspiration, we ensure that every learner leaves Newmarket Academy well‑rounded, articulate and equipped with the qualifications, character and sense of purpose needed to lead lives of choice and opportunity.
At Newmarket Academy, we are committed to supporting our Pupil Premium students to ensure they can fully access all aspects of school life. We can provide support with resources, educational visits, enrichment opportunities, and school uniform where needed.
If you feel your child would benefit from any of this support, please contact their Head of Year, Pastoral Officer, or Miss Gynn, who will be happy to discuss the help available.
